Remedial and Adapted Teaching

Bridging the Gaps and Empowering Students to Succeed

What is Remedial Teaching?

Remedial (or Adapted) Teaching is a specialized instructional approach designed for students who face difficulties in acquiring fundamental learning skills, often due to learning disabilities or ADHD. Unlike standard tutoring, remedial teaching focuses on the way a child learns, not just the material itself.
At Nitzan, we believe every child has the potential to succeed. Our goal is to provide students with the specific strategies they need to bypass their difficulties, close academic gaps, and build the confidence necessary for independent learning.

Our Approach

Our remedial teaching sessions are tailored to each student’s unique profile, often based on findings from a Didactic or Psycho-didactic assessment. We focus on:

  • Foundational Skills: Developing and strengthening reading, writing, and mathematical fluency.
  • Learning Strategies: Teaching “how to learn”—including organization, memory techniques, and time management.
  • Metacognition: Helping students understand their own thought processes to become more independent learners.
  • Emotional Support: Strengthening self-esteem and reducing the frustration often associated with academic struggles.

Who is it for?

The service is available for students of all ages:

  • Preschoolers: Preparing for the transition to first grade.
  • Elementary & High School Students: Closing gaps in core subjects and preparing for exams.
  • Higher Education Students: Adapting study habits to the demands of academic degrees.

How it Works

  • Expert Educators: Lessons are delivered by specialized remedial teachers with expertise in learning disabilities.
  • Personalized Plan: A customized learning plan is built for each student based on their specific strengths and challenges.
  • Individual or Small Group Sessions: Focused attention to ensure maximum progress.
  • Ongoing Monitoring: Constant tracking of the student’s progress and adjustment of the teaching methods as needed.

Coach your child to success

There are moments when you realize that hope is not just a word. It is an action. It is small hands holding a flowerpot, shining eyes watching a first sprout emerge, and the smile of a child rediscovering that they are capable.
